It’s
a coool exhibition!
Unfortunately
you’ve got a birthday only once a year, however this is not an unsolvable
problem: e.g. our great sculptor and promising painter Vakho Bughadze
had an exhibition at his own studio. Somnambulists, tiger skinners, Pinocchio,
Duremars and a green upside-down angel had a great pleasure in communicating
with Vakho’s guests. Stop Falling Down and Falling Up! This is Vakho’s
concept. But on the other hand what is a concept and why should we manipulate
with this strange word? Works and characters represent the concept themselves;
there is no need of having any explanation. That’s why the ordinary
and art-elite guests of the exhibition were caught red handed while consuming
quite a large amount of alcohol and having long declamations on Vakho’s
personality and his characters. It would be very complicated to classify
Vakho’s art and to our mind it is out of question while speaking
about contemporary art generally. There’s no use in defining everything
and giving everything appropriate names. As one of the guests (the artist’s
wife) remarked, Vakho’s artistic trend is “bull shit”,
he is in love with “dirt” and personally is never-ending and
unidentified (we apologize for inaccurate quotation). Shortly speaking,
as another guest great artist put it: “I’ve liked what I have
found understandable, I don’t like things I don’t really understand.
It’s easy!”
