Tekl Aslanishvili

My name is Tekla Aslanishvili. I was born in 1988 Tbilisi, Georgia. I’m a student of the third course at Tbilisi state Academy of Art, faculty of fine art. I work with several students. On April15, 2008 we had the lesson free for attendance. Five students including me presented five performances. Performance presented by me “My space”, where I am dancing on glue with naked feet and hearing headphones in the ears. I wanted to share the loneliness of a man and idea of his isolation in the world, also I wanted to express how man lives only in his own space, hears nobody and also no one can understand his emotions.
On December 11, 2007, I was a participant to-organizer of the exhibition “untitled” at the Georgian art Academy. Six students presented their performances, statue, installation, video, and cartoon. The theme of the work was the problems, which permanently accompanies a man in our modern life.
On November 7, 2007, I participated in “grand opening”-exhibition in Shindisi, which was held by guiding of Mr. Daniel Bauman.

At present, I am working on series of painting as “Done”. It is the word –done repeated and written many times on white background

The idea of the series appeared from creative crisis. The people of the twenty first century usually say that everything that could be created, has already been created, everything is done and the humankind is in blind alley. I refuse this idea in my paintings and my work. I want to show that the ability of a man is not limited.
