ORANGE
EVOLUTION
Man,
shaped by labour has reached its developmental zenith. In
our times where the technocrat is valued above all, culture
and individual dignity are cast aside. Only in the private
domain have they any currency. Achievement and ambition are
prized in the social order, and through their associated dress
codes, we identify others. A “modest” yet expensive
suit and other accessories favored by a “serious man”
symbolize a fast track through the bureaucratic ranks with
the presidency even almost in sight. Try putting an orange
vest on, though, and see how quickly you fall in other people’s
estimates. Distinctions, such as gender, age and nationality
are erased with the burning orange suggesting only one thing:
street cleaner. It doesn’t matter who littered –
whether it be businessman, philosopher, king or revolutionary
– what’s important is that the street cleaner
comes and cleans away the mess for new heroic deeds. |
